Description

Bank Negara Malaysia (the Central Bank of Malaysia) is a statutory body which began operations on 26 January 1959. It is governed by the Central Bank of Malaysia Act 2009. The role of Bank Negara Malaysia is to promote monetary and financial stability in order to provide a conducive environment for the sustainable growth of the Malaysia economy.

Bank Negara Malaysia: Lasting Legacies 1959-2019 addresses the history of the Bank from its inception in 1959 to these latter years. It provides insights into the Bank’s action in fostering and regulating the development of the Malaysia economy. It also provides glimpses into the story of the Bank as an institution from the viewpoint of former and present former staff of the bank.
